Bliss & Ryan’s Wedding at The Granary Estates

Seven months ago, I made the leap to go solo after an incredible nine years working at The Granary Estates. It was the place that shaped my career, gave me countless memories, and taught me everything I know about running weddings. The past seven months of going solo have been nothing short of amazing, but I can’t even explain how special it felt to step back into The Granary Estates again, this time on a freelance basis, to run Bliss and Ryan’s wedding.

What made it even more meaningful was that Bliss and Ryan had actually booked the venue back when I was still working there. So when they got the call that I’d be running their day, it was such a full circle moment, and luckily, they already knew who I was! From our final planning meeting right through to the wedding itself, it honestly felt like I’d never left. I know this venue like the back of my hand, and slipping straight back into it felt natural, almost like muscle memory.

Bliss and Ryan held their ceremony in The Granary Barn, the larger of the two barns, perfect for their guest numbers. Watching the bridesmaids make their way down the aisle, and then seeing Ryan’s face as Bliss was just about to walk in, is one of those moments I’ll never take for granted. It’s not only special to see the groom’s reaction, but to share those final few seconds with the bride and her father before they take that walk, there’s something incredibly powerful about being present in that moment.

The florals were absolutely stunning, though I might be slightly biased as Kellie from Clemmie & Twine is one of my favourite local florists. Her attention to detail, her styling, and the guidance she gives her couples are second to none. The meadow-style arrangements framing the end of the aisle were breathtaking, and Bliss’s bouquet was a work of art. The photos speak for themselves, but being there in person, you could see just how much thought had gone into every petal.

Their day was filled with fun, thoughtful touches, live singers during the drinks reception, mini golf on the lawn, relaxed sharing platters, and of course, the show-stopping champagne tower. The photos of that moment are incredible (as they always are!), but my goodness, they do give me a few grey hairs! What happened to the staff pouring your champagne for you and taking the stress away? 😉

Later in the evening, the newlyweds kicked off their first dance with confetti cannons, which is always a brilliant choice at The Granary Estates. With those high ceilings, the confetti just floats and falls so beautifully — it was the perfect way to fill the space with celebration.

And of course, I can’t forget their little girl. When Bliss and Ryan first booked the venue, she wasn’t yet in the picture, and by the wedding day, she was one year old. She stole the show as she was carried down the aisle like the princess she is. Not a single peep out of her all day, and the family photos with her in them were some of the sweetest moments. There’s something extra magical about watching a couple tie the knot with their little one by their side.

The love that surrounded Bliss and Ryan was undeniable. Their friends and family were in absolute awe of them, and the atmosphere was filled with warmth, laughter, and joy.

For me, this wasn’t just another wedding, it was a milestone. My first freelance wedding back at The Granary Estates, and one I’ll always remember. Bliss and Ryan, thank you for letting me be part of such a beautiful day.
